Rupture of the Coronary Sinus with Hemopericardium. a Rare Complication of Coronary Arteriovenous Fistula.

چکیده
MANY excellent reviews of coronary arteriovenous fistulas have recently appeared in the literature.1 2 In the majority of these fatal cases, death was attributed to congestive heart failure. Rupture of the eoronary sinus as a coinplication of a coronary arteriovenous fistula has not, to our knowledge, been reported. The present case is thought to be unique in that the fistula was accompanied by thrombosis of a greatly dilated coronary sinus, with perforation of the overlying sinus wall produeing tamponade and death.

Coronary arterial fistulas
A coronary arterial fistula is a connection between one or more of the coronary arteries and a cardiac chamber or great vessel. This is a rare defect and usually occurs in isolation. Its exact incidence is unknown. The majority of these fistulas are congenital in origin although they may occasionally be detected after cardiac surgery. They do not usually cause symptoms or complications in the f...
متن کاملHuge arteriovenous fistula between a giant aneurismal right coronary artery and coronary sinus.
Coronary arteriovenous fistulas are rare and may be congenital, traumatic, or iatrogenic. We report one of these rare congenital anomalies with a giant aneurismal right coronary artery (RCA) in a middle-aged lady who was asymptomatic for a long time.
متن کاملRuptured Valsalva Sinus Aneurysm to Pericardium Simulated Aortic Root Dissection
Ruptured valsalva sinus aneurysm to pericardium is a rare condition. Here, we described a case presented with tamponade. Initially, hemopericardium was partially drained and then, imaging evaluations were done. Transesophageal echocardiography showed limited dissection of aortic sinus and CT angiography of the ascending aorta showed deformed dilated right coronary sinus. Besides, surgery showed...
متن کاملArteriovenous fistula as a complication of transradial coronary angiography: a case report
UNLABELLED INTRODUCTION Iatrogenic arteriovenous fistula is a vascular condition that may result from coronary angiography. Many case reports have described arteriovenous fistula occurrence after coronary angiography using the transfemoral access route, but rarely as a complication of using the transradial approach. We report a rare case of a patient with arteriovenous fistula following tran...
متن کاملCoronary Stent Embolisation to an Iatrogenic Arteriovenous Fistula: An Unexpected Complication
INTRODUCTION Systemic embolisation of stents represents a rare complication of coronary interventions. REPORT The case of a patient with peripheral embolisation of a coronary stent while undergoing a coronary procedure for an ischaemic event is reported. The stent lodged at a previously created iatrogenic fistula joining the profunda femoral artery and the common femoral vein. An endovascular...
